Case studies

Just a few success stories, inspired to sail electric…

A campaign for the ocean

A ship-wide refit when preparing this 74ft yacht for Emily Penn’s round the world eXXpedition to study ocean plastic. Remote monitoring allows us to advise and develop measures to further reduce their carbon footprint.

Built for expedition

SV Wildheart is a RTW adventurer, a complete LiFePO4 with a full monitoring and solar package. Her owner self-installed with our guidance, one of our ‘assisted build’ formats, a method we encourage for expedition sailors.

This is the first ever UK passenger ferry powered by hydrogen, operating in the Bristol Channel. The work we undertake to reach net zero requires new thinking. This powertrain and the people behind it are key North Devon Marine Project partners.

Olaso goes off the grid

A Bavaria 44 with a system-wide upgrade. Shifting from AGM to LiFePO4, LPG to electric cooking, optimising the inboard to take a second 5kw alternator and adding solar and wind. The boat sails with significantly less impact.

Real world experience

We are here to help, from precision battery monitoring to complete refits. With thousands of miles behind our sails, using only wind and solar, we can advise on operation and technology. Feel confident that you will be making an informed choice with us.

A new concept

A beautiful example of a Sadler 85. Now trialing a new type of hybrid powertrain, aimed at vessels that do not have a regular dock to plug into. A key next step in order to decarbonise our harbours, ports and coastal waters.
